Stevens Point Open

Attached are the results for the Stevens Point Open.  We had 6 full classes through the weekend.

On Saturday, the Cadets and Juniors started the day off, followed by Class C and Class E.

On Sunday, Class B kicked off the day followed by Class A and then Class D.

After Class B completed, we had a dedication and ceremony to rename the horseshoe courts, "Schelke Horseshoe Courts" in honor of the late Pete and Dorothy Schelke.  The Schelke's were pioneers for horseshoes in the 1970's promoting the sport in Stevens Point and were the ones to get the original horseshoe courts put in at Mead Park.  As part of the Ceremony,  the Mayor of Stevens Point, Mike Wiza, came down to say a short speech and pitch out the Ceremonial first Pitch to start Class A.  Also joining us from Florida was Pete and Dorothy's Son, John Schelke along with his wife Mary-Kay.  We were blessed to have many other family members, past pitchers and members from the Public in attendance.

On behalf of the Stevens Point Horseshoe Club, I want to thank everyone that came to support the tournament from the competitors to spectators and all those that pitched in.
